Bullwinkle travelled to the Redcliffe Chess Club last night to take on the hosts in a 6-round team-sensitive swiss. Redcliffe fielded three teams, Bullwinkle one, with the top 8 scores counting for each team. In the end, 6 games proved too ambitious and the action was curtailed to 5 rounds – the last of which was played at 5+0.
Having trailed by half a point after Round 4, Bullwinkle scraped home to a half-point victory overall!
Thanks to the Redcliffe Club for hosting, and Kerry Corker for organising. The decision to accelerate the pairings led to close games from the outset. 42 players took part.
